"Pinery Provincial Park
is a small provincial park
located on Lake Huron near
Grand Bend, Ontario."
Our trip from London to Pinery Park took around 1 hour one way.
The road quality was good and 95% of the time highways were empty.

Along the road one can see farms

and production facilities.

And, of course, wind turbines.
"Wind energy in Ontario produces 5% of electricity demand."

At the Pinery Park, we purchased a day use permit that covered one vehicle and us (two adults). More information can be found on their website.
For 2016 year, the fee is $17 including HST. Not too bad for the whole day in a well-maintained park, right?
The permit should be placed on the dashboard and the vehicle (including passengers) must leave before 10 pm. And don't forget to take a free "Pinery Information Guide" at the gates when you pay for the permit. The guide has maps, educational info and articles to read. Very handy, especially for first time visitors.
We went directly to the beach area for day use, shown on the map as a star:

However, you can choose any parking lots within the day use beach line, marked as 1-9.
After parking maneuvers were completed, we followed the trail that brought us to the lake.

The beach is not wide at all, but long enough to accommodate those who came.

From my personal impression - gulls are everywhere and they are waiting for a moment to steal your food :)

They are watching you.

Seriously, all the time... they are watching you :)
Have you seen "The Secret Life of Pets"? If yes, you'll understand me ;)

P.S.
1. From the guide I found out that there is a big antique flea market at the Grand Bend area. Market runs from May till October, Sundays only. Well, no doubt, I will put it in my list "To visit" ;)
2. From the same guide: there was a free day-use day, July 15, 2016, for all provincial parks. Something to keep in mind for next summer.
3. They have an app. Cool, eh?
4. Just few steps from the Pinery Park, one can find Lambton Heritage Museum. Admission $5 for adults. Why not check that out next time?
